Recycling/Recyclable Initiatives

  • Brayton is committed to incorporating recycled or recyclable elements into our products and facility. Within our own corporate fitness center and IT storage, rubber flooring from recycled tires was used.
  • Brayton recycles scrap textiles (leather 100%, fabric 90%).
  • Wood shipping pallets are donated for a re-use program.
  • Waste solvents and solids from finishing processes are recycled or used in a fuel to waste energy program and are not placed in a landfill.
  • All brown corrugated materials are recycled
  • The Enea Polypropylene (seat and back) includes recycled Polypropylene content with a 100% recycled steel and aluminum frame. The parts may be recycled at the end of the product life.

STEELCASE introduces Environmental Partnership Program.

As we continue to design and manufacture more environmentally responsible products, we also recognize that many customers are looking for ways to lessen the environmental impact of furniture they no longer use. The Steelcase Environmental Partnership Program is the industry's most comprehensive program designed to connect customers with environmentally responsible after use strategies for their Steelcase and SDP furniture.

HOW IT WORKS:

Steelcase and its dealers will help customers - on a case-by-case basis - evaluate, select and connect to an environmentally responsible method of managing their product at the end of its intended use. Leveraging our extensive local dealer network along with a national network of recyclers, resellers and non-profit agencies, we can provide a variety of alternatives to sending unused furniture into landfills. Depending on the type and quantity of furniture involved, one of these options could be selected as a more viable -greener-choice:

  • Recycle - with the goal of minimizing the amount of waste put into a landfill
  • Resell - for use by another business
  • Donate - to a non-profit agency
  • Refurbish - for customer re-use
